Imprisonment for up to twenty years.

ROBBERY BY USE OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON

Penalty

Imprisoned not less than ten years and a maximum period for life, or fined up to $15,000, or both.

POSSESSION OF A HANDGUN WITHOUT A PERMIT

Penalty

Imprisonment not less than one year and up to ten years, or by a fine up to $10,000, or both, and except for a first offense, shall not be eligible for probation and the sentence shall not be suspended or deferred.

CARRYING DANGEROUS WEAPON/SUBSTANCE IN COMMISSION OF A VIOLENT CRIME

Penalty

1st Offense: Imprisonment 3 years to 10 years;
2nd Offense: Imprisonment 10 years to 20 years;
3rd Offense: Imprisonment 15 years to life.

POSSESSION OF A FIREARM WHILE DELIVERING OR MANUFACTURING A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Penalty

Imprisonment 2 years to 20 years, and the sentence must be served consecutive (after) to any sentence the person receives for the underlying distribution or manufacturing charge. It is not a defense to this charge that a person has a license to carry/possess a firearm.

CARRYING A STOLEN FIREARM IN THE COMMISION OF A VIOLENT CRIME

Penalty

1st Offense: Imprisonment 5 to 10 years;
2nd Offense: Imprisonment 15 to 20 years;

3rd Offense: Imprisonment 20 years to life in prison. The sentence must be served consecutive (after) to the underlying sentence for the violent crime.

USING A FIREARM WHEN COMMITTING A CRIME OF VIOLENCE

Penalty

1st Offense: Imprisonment for 10 years. If a machine gun is used, thirty 30 years;
2nd Offense: Imprisonment for 20 years. If a machine gun is used, imprisonment shall be for life;
3rd Offense: Imprisonment for life or life without the possibility of parole depending on the trial judge’s consideration of aggravating and mitigating circumstances.

ALTERATING IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS OF A FIREARM

Penalty

Imprisonment for up to 5 years.

ARMOR PIERCING BULLETS

Penalty

Imprisonment for up to 3 years, or a fine of up to $5,000, or both.
